Experimental sound, electronic beats, dance and hypnotic visuals come together in a live performance
The Grey Space presents is a platform where young talents from The Hague get the opportunity to perform within our space. This edition features electronic music artists, giving them the chance to showcase their sound and creativity in an alternative environment.
Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes: an Offshoot
Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes is an immersive audio-visual project where sound and image exist in constant dialogue.
For this performance, they will be presenting an ongoing offshoot of the project, which works with a modular setup of recurring collaborators. This performance will feature the Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes guitar duo of Gonçalo Oliveira and James A.-McEwan, alongside CCH (aka Simone Sacchi) on drum machines and synths, dancers/movers Sasha Shevchuk and Alessia Lombardi, and visual artist tschnz (aka Jens Schindel)
This extended ensemble unfolds slow, immersive landscapes of drones, ambience, noise, repetition and industrial beats, which interact in a constant push and pull with a moving dance performance and immersive visuals, finding a space between experimental music, and EDM culture.
Rengbird
Rengbird is the solo ambient project of the Netherlands-based producer / guitarist / composer Rengert Eggink. Aided by the use of effects pedals, drumcomputers, the warmth of the tape medium with its gentle hissing textures, creates an inviting world of kaleidoscopic sound-tapestries, featuring gentle droning textures, glitchy beats, mellow loops, and traces of subtle melodic elements.

Artist bio
Flowers/Ghosts&Echoes is an audio-visual trio originating in Den Haag, consisting of two electric guitars and live visuals. The improvising guitar duo of Gonçalo Oliveira and James A.-McEwan explores a slow-moving instrumental landscape of drones and post-rock ambience, featuring elements of guitar experimentalism, noise music and post minimalism. Their sonic world interacts with and responds to the performative visuals of designer and visual artist Felix Bodin. Using his self-designed visual instrument, consisting of projections reverberated through the performance space with the use of a malleable mirrored surface, Bodin’s setup spreads, distorts or focuses digitally generated patterns into unique and dazzling light and projections. Sometimes delicate and serene, other times erratic and unpredictable.
