Maxim Shalygin

Harpsichordist Dmytro Kokoshynskyy brings his programme "Music for These Troubled Times" to the third edition of Festival Le Rose, in the Galleria on the first floor of Villa Togni in Gussago. The concert pairs English melancholy of the 15th–17th centuries — Bull, Gibbons, Byrd and Tallis — interspersed with works by Froberger, alongside Maxim Shalygin’s KHÔRA (2025) for solo harpsichord. Written specially for this project, Shalygin’s piece serves as a bridge connecting the modern world with the 16th and 17th centuries, highlighting music’s timeless power as a remedy in difficult, uncertain times.
