More than a tribute, The Billie Holiday Project celebrates the music, life, and enduring legacy of one of jazz’s most influential artists. Heath and her band explore songs from throughout Holiday’s career—from the swinging small-group recordings of the 1930s to the deeply expressive ballads that became synonymous with Lady Day—alongside stories that illuminate the woman and artist behind the music. The performance also features music from Heath’s nationally acclaimed album For Billie, bringing fresh arrangements and a contemporary perspective to songs forever associated with Billie Holiday.
