Originally from the Midwest and now based in Tampa Bay, Kip Kelly crafts heartfelt, narrative-driven music that echoes the traditions of Guy Clark and John Prine. After picking up a guitar in 2008 to process the loss of his mother, Kip developed a signature style defined by intricate Travis picking and an eye for the "unique details" that make a story real.
Kip’s commitment to the craft earned him a win at a 2019 songwriting contest judged by Sam Baker and Rod Picott, securing him a spot at the St. Petersburg Songwriter’s Festival. He has since shared the stage with renowned songwriters including Slaid Cleaves, Joe Pug, and Rod Picott.
