Signe Førre Kvartett er et spennende ensemble som forener folkemusikk fra ulike kulturer med jazz. Med utgangspunkt i musikalske tradisjoner fra blant annet Norge, Serbia, Nord-Makedonia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Bulgaria og Tyrkia skaper kvartetten et uttrykk som er både personlig, kraftfullt og grenseløst.
Kontrabassist, vokalist og komponist Signe Førre har markert seg som en av de mest spennende unge musikerne på den norske jazz- og folkemusikkscenen. Sammen med et band bestående av noen av landets mest etterspurte musikere tar hun publikum med på en musikalsk reise gjennom ulike kulturer, språk og tradisjoner.
Musikken bygger på et bestillingsverk skrevet for det historiske Finnesloftet på Voss i 2019. Her møtes jazz og folkemusikk i nye arrangementer, der tradisjonelle melodier får nytt liv gjennom improvisasjon, sterke rytmer og vakre vokaluttrykk på flere språk.
Konserten presenterer musikk fra det kritikerroste debutalbumet FAGERT, utgitt på Ta:Lik Records.

Signe Førre brings a fresh Nordic voice to the global music scene — weaving together Norwegian folk, Balkan traditions, and lyrical jazz with striking originality.
Signe Førre is a double bassist, singer, and composer known for her innovative approach to music. Her album FAGERT on label Ta:lik Records features her own arrangements of multi cultural folk music from countries like Serbia, Norway, and Turkey, showcasing her ability to blend diverse musical traditions into a cohesive sound. Through her unique interpretations, Signe brings new life to these timeless melodies bridging cultures and inviting listeners to explore the richness of global folk music. With each note, she creates a sound that reflects her passion for tradition and creativity.
Signe Førre has played at several musicfestivals such as Hilmarfestivalen in Steinkjer, Varangerfestivalen in Vadsø and Vossa Jazz in Voss. Førre is both a jazz musician as well as a folk musician and combine these genres in her concerts. Førre has played with great musicians like Andy Sheppard, Tineke Postma, Marius Neset, Laura Jurd, Nubya Garcia, Jorun Marie Kvernberg, Håkon Mjåset Johansen, Torbjørn Økland, Eivind Austad, Jo Asgeir Lie, Kåre Opheim, Irene Tillung and Stein Inge Brækhus etc. On her debut album FAGERT she is joined by Torbjørn Økland on guitars, bouzouki, mandolin and trumpet, Jo Asgeir Lie on accordion, and Kåre Opheim on drums and percussion.
Førre’s debut album received great reviews in Norway and also internationaly, and two of the tracks from FAGERT is now on rotation on Norways national radiostation on the chanel NRK Folkemusikk (folk music), and also on NRK Jazz.
