About this concert
7:00 PM EDT2 Going
Award-winning VERONNEAU return to Hill Center following last year’s sold-out, audience-favorite, Blue Tapestry – Joni Mitchell & Carole King celebration.
From Paris to Rio & Beyond blends soulful French, American & Brazilian repertoire and a touch of bluesy originals. In songs and stories, vocalist Lynn Veronneau & guitarist Ken Avis travel in time through tempos rich and mellow, swing and samba. Often described as “a mini Pink Martini” VERONNEAU’s multilingual show is captivating, engaging and exquisitely performed. With special guests including UK violin virtuoso Dave Kline.

Artist bio
Based in the Washington DC area, this international band led by sensational Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau have toured in the UK, Europe, Canada and the US, and have enjoyed 3 Top 10 album releases in the Jazz and World Music charts.
The band have received seven awards in the US mid-Atlantic region for "Best Jazz Group," "Best Jazz Vocals", "Best Jazz Recording", and play regularly at large festivals as well as on major stages such as The Kennedy Center, Strathmore and Blues Alley.
Véronneau was formed in 2010 by French Canadian vocalist Lynn Véronneau and her husband, British guitarist Ken Avis, . The couple met a decade ago while performing at a festival in Switzerland. Each performed widely in Canada, the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe before teaming up in the U.S.
Lynn's rich and captivating voice has an intonation and emotional quality reminiscent of Eva Cassidy, but carries more force, approaching that of compatriot Céline Dion. She has been compared to Astrud Gilberto and Stacey Kent in style and delivery.
