Voor deze 4e editie van Jazz & Strings gaat het strijkorkest “Verse Vis” samenwerken met het nieuwste trio van trompettist Eric Vloeimans, Pico Bello. Dit bestaat naast Eric uit gitarist Mark Tuinstra en slagwerker Udo Demandt. Jasper le Clercq, leider van “Verse Vis”, speelde samen met cellist Jörg Brinkmann en dit trio tijdens het eerste Orange Jazz festival in oktober 2025. De muziek die Eric Vloeimans hier speciaal voor componeerde bracht Jasper op het idee om Eric te vragen samen met hem een programma voor Jazz & Strings vorm te geven. Dit zowel uitvoerend als voor een deel met zijn muziek. De andere composities en arrangementen zullen wederom van de hand van Jasper zelf zijn.

Artist bio
Although he studied classical music as a child, he became interested in jazz at the Rotterdam Academy of Music. After graduating in 1988, he moved to New York City and studied trumpet with Donald Byrd. He was a member of big bands led by Mercer Ellington and Frank Foster. In the 1990s, he recorded the album Bitches and Fairy Tales (1999) with Marc Johnson, Joey Baron, and John Taylor. Vloeimans has also worked with Kinan Azmeh, Lars Danielsson, Jimmy Haslip, Joe LaBarbera, Nguyen Le, Ernst Reijseger, Jan Willem de Vriend, Holland Baroque, Kyteman and Bugge Wesseltoft.
