Gerhard Oppitz

Gerhard Oppitz, a student of Wilhelm Kempff who carries on his musical tradition, will perform at Tokyo Opera City. In this recital, Oppitz will present a program centered on Beethoven and Brahms—works for which he is particularly highly acclaimed. In addition to Beethoven’s two great sonatas, “Pathétique” and “Moonlight,” the program features Brahms’s Piano Sonata No. 3 and Six Piano Pieces, Op. 118, making for a truly compelling performance. Drawing on the German musical tradition he inherited from his mentor, Wilhelm Kempff, and his profound musical interpretation, Oppitz will bring out the full charm of these works.
