About this concert
7:00 PM GMT+1
Lunatraktors and Dan Whitehouse bring together ancient song, contemporary songwriting, movement and story in a collaborative performance that reaches beyond a conventional double bill.
Lunatraktors are choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson (she/her) and vocalist and researcher Clair Le Couteur (they/them). They rework Anglo-Celtic traditional music through vocal harmony, percussive dance, acoustic beats, analogue synth, whistles and bass accordion. Primal, playful and theatrical, they approach folk music as performance art.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Dan Whitehouse (he/him) continues to renew, reinvent and reimagine. Over a career spanning more than two decades, the acclaimed Black Country artist has evolved from the introspective acoustic singer-songwriter of his early solo records into a restless, genre-defying collaborator and pioneering “documentary songwriter”, combining emotionally rich songs with spoken word, storytelling and improvisation.
Expect voices, instruments and ideas to cross into shared musical territory, creating an evening that is intimate, exploratory and alive to the moment.
