About this concert
7:30 PM GMT+13 Going
Mahogany dovetails elements of post-punk, shoegaze, disco and classical into futuristic, architectural, symphonic compositions. Duo Andrew Prinz and Jaclyn Slimm combine vocals, twin 12-string guitars, massive bass, densely-sequenced rhythms, synthesis, sampling, and generative projections for an immersive effect known as the “Hypercube.” Performing live with artists like Anika, Vampire Weekend, Bloc Party, A Place To Bury Strangers, Broadcast, and many others, Mahogany garners continued acclaim with reviews and features in Post-Punk.com, Brooklyn Vegan, Pitchfork, NME, The New York Times, and more. Paid by Cash are a 6-piece group blending alternative rock sensibilities with shoegaze and post-punk. Their layered melodies and harmonies meet with whiplash-inducing dynamics to create a live experience that can't be missed. Adele Dazeem is a band based in east London. Formed in 2020 by singer/guitarist Charlie Hearl, bassist Philippe O’Connor and drummer Frank Andrews, they have developed a sound that fuses a cutting urgency with ethereal ambience. The name comes from an infamous John Travolta mispronunciation – seemingly in contrast to the weight of their music – but the idea of a simple misread name became the starting point for their creative exploration of identity, ego, attachment and the different parts of ourselves. Misère and Deep Sea Hand, released on Sonic Cathedral (Bdrmm, Deary) as one half of their debut EP, Metanoia, have both been played on Radio 6 and Radio X and earned them support shows with cult US shoegazers LSD & The Search For God and Whitelands. They are currently working on their debut album.

“Mahogany are a brave exception” — NME

Mahogany dovetails elements of post-punk, shoegaze, disco and classical into futuristic, architectural, symphonic compositions. Duo Andrew Prinz and Jaclyn Slimm combine vocals, twin 12-string guitars, massive bass, densely-sequenced rhythms, and a variety of synthesizers and samplers for an immersive effect known as the "Hypercube."

The Mahogany discography already comprises two critically-acclaimed full-length albums The Dream of the Modern Day and Connectivity!, as well as numerous singles, EPs and compilation tracks collected on the double-disc set Memory Column: Early Works and Rarities 1996-2004. While producing, designing and remixing for artists including Ulrich Schnauss, The Veldt, and Lovesliescrushing, more recent Mahogany work includes the expansive 8-minute maxi-single “Phase Break.”

Performing live with artists like Anika, Jonathan Bree, Vampire Weekend, Spoon, Bloc Party, Interpol, Luna, Broadcast, and many others, Mahogany garners reviews and features in Pitchfork, The Wire, The New York Times, NME, Guardian, ZOO Magazine, and more.
