Born in 2022 from the meeting of violinist Joachim Baumerder and drummer Simon Lacouture, marta is a live techno duo that channels club energy into a fully live performance. Their approach relies on a deliberately stripped back setup with violin, drums, pedals and a few textures, in service of a physical, repetitive, dance driven music where organic elements constantly interact with techno codes.

Noticed with their debut EP ROOM, selected as a Qobuzissime release for its efficiency and radical edge, marta quickly established themselves as a strong live act. The duo has since played over forty shows, including appearances at Bars en Trans and Bise Festival, asserting a distinctive and resolutely club oriented live identity.

In 2026, marta open a new chapter with the release of the EP PUSH, due out on April 24. A first single, LINE, will be released on February 11 and will announce the project’s most ambitious tour to date.
