Artist bio
summersets is the new duo from Juno and Polaris nominated singer-songwriter Kalle Mattson, and longtime collaborator Andrew Sowka. Influenced by the storytelling of John Prine and delivered with the delicacy of Simon & Garfunkel, their debut full-length, 'small town story', was produced by Jim Bryson (Kathleen Edwards, The Weakerthans) and nominated for both a 2024 Ontario Folk Music Award and a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award. Their followup LP, ‘Pine Trees In A Perfect Row’ produced once again by Bryson and featuring Peter Von Althen (Skydiggerrs) and Christine Bougie (Bahamas) will be released August 28th 2026.

What fans are saying
Amazing songwriting and amazing artists!!
Feel so fortunate to have seen them up close and personal in a stage set up like the fourth stage, especially since I feel like they’re about to take off in popularity!
Saw them first at Ottawa Bluesfest and loved them even more this time!! Their session musicians were also phenomenal!!
Hope they play in Ottawa again soon.
