Michael Blakey

From living in a minivan to touring the country in a Subaru, Michael Blakey is a Midwestern ball of energy filled with optimism, hope, and a nice dash of reality that keeps him grounded. In 2012, he left his home in Missouri on a quest to find himself, and to this day, the search continues.

After every song, he peels back a new layer of how he views himself and his place in the world. His music is a genre-bending roller coaster. One moment, he's finger-picking his way to the softest part of your heart, and the next he's jumping off a drum riser or joining a circle pit in the crowd. His energy and presence on stage are sure to make you leave the show with a smile.

Michael recorded his first album, Prisoner of Freedom, in Bucharest, Romania, in 2018. Yep, he's basically Romanian now after living and performing in Bucharest for five years. His time there went by in a flash, and before he knew it, he was taking a leap into the arms of his fans.

His second full-length album, New Perspective, was made possible by a crowdfunding campaign in 2022. Over 350 people spanning 12 countries bought an album before it was even recorded. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and his fans know it. His vulnerability on and off stage is what attracts people to him and his music.
