KOVACS
Sharon Kovacs is a singer with a dark, soulful voice and a sound entirely her own, influenced by icons like Betty Davis, Etta James, Tina Turner, and the smoky, melancholic tones of Amy Winehouse, Shirley Bassey, and Portishead. She broke through internationally in 2014 with the EP My Love, partly recorded in Cuba, and has since performed at major festivals including North Sea Jazz, Lowlands, Pinkpop, Glastonbury, and Sziget. Her albums Shades of Black (2015) and Cheap Smell (2018) received international acclaim, while 2023’s Child of Sin, featuring a duet with Rammstein’s Till Lindemann and sounds from a Turkish gypsy ensemble, became the highest new entry in the Dutch Album Top 100 and toured to sold-out audiences worldwide. In the second half of 2026, she will release a long-awaited new album, placing electronic music at the heart of her sound for the first time. Drawing on Berlin industrial techno and early ’70s electro, these influences merge with her signature soulful voice to create a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh, marking a natural next step in her evolution as one of Europe’s most distinctive voices.

Artist bio
Sharon Kovacs is an enigmatic phenomenon. Emerging from the Netherlands, she has forged her own unique path through life’s devious twists and tangles, and entranced the globe with her wicked allure. The Bond-like tango noir of her 2013 EP ‘My Love’, partly recorded in Cuba, was an instant European hit, even reaching Number One in Greece, and in 2015 her debut album ‘Shades Of Black’ charted in 36 countries, making the Top Ten in Germany and hitting Number One in her Dutch homeland.
Sixty million YouTube views, a clutch of awards and high-profile sets at major festivals as Rock am Ring later, Kovacs’ dark, raw, bare-hearted soul with distinct touches of the greats (Holliday, Simone, Bassey, Winehouse, Portishead’s Beth Gibbons) is on the verge of making her a sultry superstar. Her latest album ‘Child Of Sin’ featuring German superstar Till Lindemann (Rammstein) is one of the most open, honest and inspired records to date – like her debut – she is out to find the positive in life’s toughest turns.
In 2025, Kovacs embarks on an exciting next chapter in her career, with new music on the horizon.
