Artist bio
GLAY is a rock band from Hokkaido.
Formed in 1988, centered around TAKURO (Gt.) and TERU (Vo.), the band's current lineup was established with the addition of HISASHI (Gt.) in 1989 and JIRO (Ba.) in 1992. They made their major debut in 1994. Since then, they have set numerous milestones in CD sales, live concert attendance, and other areas, continuing to lead the Japanese music scene.
To celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2024-2025, they embraced the theme of "GLAY EXPO" and undertook various activities. As a grand finale, they held concerts at Tokyo Dome on May 31st and June 1st, 2025, and at Kyocera Dome Osaka on June 8th, concluding with great success.
On December 3rd, 2025, they released their 63rd single, "Dead Or Alive," which achieved the feat of "30 consecutive years in the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking Top 10." This was a first in Oricon history and a new personal record for the band. Furthermore, on December 10th, they will release the video work "GLAY 30th Anniversary GLAY EXPO 2024-2025 GRAND FINALE," which captures their 30th-anniversary dome concert.
Also, from March 20th, 2026, they are scheduled to hold a hall tour, "HIGHCOMMUNICATIONS TOUR 2026 “GLAY-complete BEST”," visiting 15 locations and performing 16 shows nationwide.
In 2005, the members established their own management company, and in June 2010, with the desire to "be more straightforward about music," they launched their own label, "loversoul music & associates" (renamed "LSG" in 2016), and the e-commerce site "GLAY Official Store G-DIRECT." Furthermore, in 2017, they launched "GLAY app," a subscription-based official app that distributes all of GLAY's music and videos. Through music, GLAY continues to strive for greater heights with a unique stance, so that they can challenge all possibilities.
