What fans are saying
My love for the Pumpkins has always been complicated. Love their music, their aesthetic and I think Corgan is one of the most brilliant rock musicians on the planet. That being said. This is my 4th time seeing them (technically 3rd because we left half way during the first song in 22 when they co headlined with Jane’s) and it was always a disappointing experience. At Lolla 94, Billy had a breakdown on stage and yelled at the audience . In 96, Chamberlin had just been kicked out so energy was low and then in 22 , it wasn’t because they sound bad but I didn’t even recognize the song so we bolted . Fast forward to now . Thanks to Corgan’s podcast , I’ve come to love Billy again and really appreciate what SP meant to me all the years. Last night’s show was the performance I’ve been yearning for 3O odd years. Great setlist, loved seeing James and Jimmy. I miss Darcy of course but his touring bass player was phenomenal. Corgan seems to be in a good place in his heart and mind and I’m so happy for him. He’s not always the easiest front man to root for. They sound tight and enthusiastic. Go check em out. Would love to see a SP/Hole co headlined concert in the future. The two misfits of grunge conquer the arenas. 😇
