About this concert

All the Rivers is a global ensemble of immigrant and refugee musicians from 10 countries who now call Vermont home. Founded in 2024 by musical director Avi Salloway (Billy Wylder / Bombino), the group has quickly emerged as a vibrant artistic force for belonging and justice, shaped by the political, environmental, and social pressures facing immigrant communities worldwide.
Singing in seven languages and weaving musical traditions from across the globe, the ensemble creates high-energy, transformative performances that invite audiences to dance, sing, and join together in solidarity. Each show becomes a space of story and connection—amplifying immigrant voices while highlighting the cultural richness new Vermonters bring to our state.
This performance features Colombian singer-songwriter Cintia Lovo; balafon master Ousmane Camara of Guinea, West African percussionists, Japanese American drummer Daiki Hirano, and more in collaboration with Salloway.
Recent highlights include a sold-out performance at the Flynn in Burlington, where nearly 1,500 people gathered in music and collective joy in support of immigrant communities.
Looking ahead, All the Rivers continues to expand its impact through a debut studio album, a documentary film, and an increasing number of performances across the Northeast.
At its core, All the Rivers is both a celebration and a conversation—uniting communities through the power of music.

Artist bio
From the front-lines at Standing Rock to the archaic streets of Jerusalem, the Sahel Desert to Carnegie Hall, music has been the source of strength for Billy Wylder. The band features Avi Salloway (Bombino) joined by an inspired cast of singular artists who have performed across six continents including concerts at Coachella, Newport Folk Festival, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Montreal Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center.
The music weaves together American folk and rock with sensibilities from the Sahara Desert, exploring new musical space akin to Devendra Banhart, Beck, and Tinariwen. Billy Wylder’s new recordings evoke musical evolutions built on grooves informed by ancient African rhythms, art-rock textures, expansive guitars, violins, synths, and drum machines. Salloway’s lyrics flow with inspiration from mythical songwriting hero Leonard Cohen, while threading together more abstract imagery reminiscent of Thom Yorke.
The band has toured extensively, performing and collaborating with renowned artists including Jack Johnson, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Bombino, The Low Anthem, and Pete Seeger.
“Art rock band Billy Wylder carry the torch of the niche dug out by Talking Heads and their groundbreaking album "Remain in Light." -WBUR
“A sense of mystery and majesty.” –No Depression
