MOLASS sind keine gewöhnliche Band – sie sind eine Bewegung, die das Neo-Soul- Genre neu denkt. Ihr Sound ist eine vibrierende Fusion aus Funk, Jazz und elektronischen Einflüssen, getragen von der facettenreichen Stimme von Marissa Möller. Zusammen mit Jan Lammert (Keys), Julian Schwiebert (Bass) und Lambert Windges (Drums) erschaffen MOLASS eine „Groovy Fairytale“, die zwischen hypnotischer Wärme und scharfen Kontrasten balanciert. Inspiriert von Künstler:innen wie Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney und The Alan Parsons Project sprengen sie stilistische Grenzen und laden ihr Publikum ein, in unerwartete Klangwelten einzutauchen.
Schon früh machten MOLASS auf sich aufmerksam: 2021 belegten sie den 2. Platz beim renommierten Jazz-Nachwuchspreis Future Sounds der Leverkusener Jazztage. 2022 folgten das zweite Studioalbum „Piece Of Mass“ und 2023 die EP „Heaviness & Hopes“, mit der die Band ihren unverwechselbaren Sound weiter ausformte.
2024 gelang MOLASS der Durchbruch auf Social Media: Ihre viralen Insta- und TikTok- Reels erreichten über 5 Millionen Views und brachten eine neue, internationale Fanbase. Im selben Jahr tourte die Band erstmals erfolgreich durch Großbritannien.
Im Juni 2025 belegten sie den zweiten Preis beim Montreux Jazz Festival Band Contest in Kooperation mit Thomann & Shure. Im November 2025 erschien ihre nächste EP „Wait For It“, die den bisherigen Weg konsequent weiterführt – groovy, experimentell und emotional kompromisslos.

MOLASS is not your ordinary band; they are a movement redefining the Neo-Soul genre. Their sound is a vibrant fusion of funk, jazz, and electronic influences — a play between warmth and sharp contrast — carried by the distinctive and multifaceted voice of frontwoman Marissa Möller. Together with Jan Lammert (keys), Julian Schwiebert (bass), and Lambert Windges (drums), MOLASS create a “Groovy Fairytale” that balances hypnotic intimacy with bold, unexpected twists. Inspired by artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote, Moses Sumney, and The Alan Parsons Project, the band consistently breaks stylistic boundaries and invites listeners into immersive, unconventional sound worlds.
MOLASS first gained wider attention in 2021, when they won 2nd place at Future Sounds, the renowned jazz newcomer competition of the Leverkusener Jazztage. In 2022, they released their second studio album Piece Of Mass, followed by the EP Heaviness & Hopes in 2023, further refining their unmistakable sonic identity.
In 2024, MOLASS reached a major breakthrough on social media: their viral Instagram and TikTok reels amassed over 5 million views, introducing the band to a rapidly growing international audience. The same year, MOLASS embarked on their first successful tour across the UK.
