John Butler Trio

The John Butler Band (there are four now) played for 160 minutes, including a two song encore. No opening act. It was great. He and the audience loved each other, the audience was dancing most of the show, and he talked quite a bit about how he feels about the world these days. Some songs were about that as well, including a great song about loving each other. He is very high energy, very positive, full of life: just a great guy. He did everything from quiet contemplative ballads to very loud wall of sound rock anthems. Not for the faint of heart. The Lincoln Theater is a beautiful venue, but the seats are narrow and have short pitch, due to the era in which it was built. Sound quality was excellent.
