For more than three decades, AFI has been in a nearly constant state of reinvention. The band have made it a point to evolve with every album—sometimes dramatically so—never allowing themselves to become too comfortable in one genre or rest on any of their impressive career laurels. It’s an approach that has grown their audience but also challenged it with a sonic identity that can shift in wild, unexpected directions. Now with their twelfth album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, AFI are once again at the start of a bold new chapter, only this time they’ve even managed to surprise themselves.

Artist bio
AFI are leaders, not followers. A collective in a perpetual state of creative evolution as fluid as the evocative figures contorting on the cover of Bodies, their newest collection of songs. The record is a snapshot of unrelenting artists in motion, unconcerned with compromise or outside demands.
The band initially summoned a steady subcultural groundswell in the mid-90s, devoid of careerist ambitions. The band first made music as teenaged misfits in an obscure Northern California town, steadily assembling a dense catalog over the years marked by its diversity and authenticity.
The platinum success of Sing the Sorrow blazed a path for a generation of hardcore-punk weaned bands to similarly crossover. 2006's Decemberunderground upended expectations again and earned AFI a second platinum plaque. Crash Love was another adventurous turn, with expansive and almost optimistic-sounding melodies, glistening with emotion. The haunting Burials arrived four years later, debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. The self-titled follow-up, commonly referred to as "the Blood Album," became AFI's second-highest charting album since their inception, debuting at No. 5 in 2017.

What fans are saying
AFI amazing as always, they never dissapoint. They played several songs from the new album, honestly, the setlist was great, but I would love they played other songs too like Aurelia, A Deep Slow Panic, Endlessly She Said, The Boy Who Destroyed the World (I know they included it in previous concerts). My only complaint was about the security staff at the entrance. There were a lot of fans waiting in line for hours, including us, and when it was finally time to go in, the staff started pulling people from the back of the line and letting them in first. It was honestly ridiculous. They didn’t respect the fact that many of us had been standing there for hours. It was really frustrating to watch people who arrived way later get in first and end up with better spots inside.
