Artist bio
Marc Charmet, known as charmey, is a French composer and pianist who studied composition at the École Normale de Musique in Paris. However, it was only at the age of 50—when he let go of everything he had learned—that he truly began making music. Because music is not about rules, but about emotions and atmospheres.
He first performed as a keyboardist in the sophisti-pop band Nuage Project, before continuing his journey as a solo pianist. His playing is like a coffee stain on the pages of an old book—somewhat nostalgic, yet always fresh. Inspired by Erik Satie, Yann Tiersen, and Nils Frahm, he ultimately follows his own melodies.
His concerts bring together minimalism and deep emotions, painting a soundscape of Paris and Budapest’s misty streets, landscapes, and long city walks.
