About this concert
7:30 PM GMT2 Going
The Pete Roth Trio returns to the Wrecking Ball following a sold-out performance last time, bringing their distinctive, immersive approach back to this wonderful venue.
Featuring Pete Roth on guitar, Mike Pratt on bass, and the incomparable Bill Bruford on drums, the trio creates an intimate, near-jazz experience that is fluid, improvised, and deeply interactive. Their music unfolds as a live conversation — between players, and with the audience — where each performance becomes a unique exploration of sound, texture, and connection.
Drawing on jazz, funk, contemporary classical and beyond (Dvořák included), nothing is sacred. It is not retro, and it is not comfortable. Instead, it is brilliantly unruly — music that lives in small spaces and dark corners, where spontaneity and risk take centre stage.

Artist bio
Pete Roth, a versatile artist and accomplished session guitarist, born in Germany, where his musical journey began in the heart of a family deeply rooted in music. At the age of 11, he picked up the guitar, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to his craft.
In his formative years, Pete found inspiration in the raw emotion of blues and the electrifying energy of rock. However, his musical horizons expanded when he ventured to England to study jazz. There, he delved into the rich complexities of the genre, drawing influence from luminaries such as Joe Pass, John Schofield, and Julian Lage.
Equipped with a diverse array of influences and a passion for innovation, Pete embarked on a solo career as a leader, culminating in the recording of two albums under the banner of MGP Records.
One of the hallmarks of Pete’s career are the sessions with renowned artists across various genres. He has shared the stage with such illustrious names as Brian Dee (Miles Davis, Chet Baker), The London Gala Orchestra, Olivier Award-winning Maria Friedmann (Stephen Sondheim, Michel Legrand), Tim Sanders (Eric Clapton, The Who), Steve Bell (London Philharmonic) and Olivier Award-winning Michael Haslam among many others. Signed, since 2010, to MGP Records, Pete has extensively toured the UK and
Europe extensively with concerts ranging from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Festival Hall.
