Artist bio
Emerging from the misty wetlands of Warra north of Meanjin, swampcore trio Dead Head Redemption bring a blend of dirty blues, dark country, and rusty railroad rattlers.
Formed in late 2023, these wanderers found bountiful purpose in bolt-action entertainment.
From ground-shaking bass lines, limb-breaking drums and guitars that go from crunchy underfoot to soaring over the canopy, at the behest of the woodland king go they!
Debut single 'This Ain't My Town' hit #9 on Brisbane's 4ZZZ weekly chart show on debut. A searing indictment on the "someone else's problem" syndrome that plagues our society, this song follows a weary traveller who witnesses injustice, and stays silent. Until they find themselves a victim of terrible violence, and are ignored.
A thunderous rock beat fuelled by snappy wrists, and driven by relentless bass licks, whipped furiously into a crescendo by screaming fuzz-soaked guitars, the song maintains a subtle soul with ethereal backup vocals.
Follow-up single 'Runnin' grabbed a few sneaky pre-launch plays prior to its full streaming release on Friday 16th May 2025. 'Runnin' captures the paranoia and anxiety of being swamped by any and all issues of the day. A relentless wall of sound - courtesy of an unleashed drumkit, V8 bass, and ripsaw guitars - and the pounding heartbeat and breathless footsteps of the metaphorical protaganist of this sprint rush headlong into a desperate climax...and fretful escape?
With their debut album The Wendigo Hunters right around the corner, these gritty geezers could be riding roughspun into your town soon!
