Dee Lucas is a critically acclaimed contemporary jazz saxophonist who has spent the past 20 years building a career defined by smooth grooves, heartfelt melodies, and unshakable dedication to his craft.
Known for his signature sound and genre-blending style, Lucas seamlessly fuses jazz with elements of R&B, funk, and gospel—creating a unique but smooth sound that's both accessible and emotionally resonant. He has carved a distinctive niche as one of the most consistent and versatile artists in the genre.
A self-taught musician, Lucas began his solo career in 2004 with the release of Remembrance, a heartfelt tribute to legendary saxophonist George Howard. Since then, it has been a steady stream of critically acclaimed projects totaling 11 including fan favorites like Going Left, Something to Ride 2, The Time Is Now, and No Boundaries. His current album, Twenty, marks a celebratory milestone in his two-decade journey as a solo artist.
