Always say Neverest. The pop band consisting of Spyros ‘Spee’ Chalkiotis, Paul Loduca, and Greg Keyes whose debut year as a recording act saw them tour arenas with Backstreet Boys and New Kids On The Block, earn a gold single for “About Us”, and over a million YouTube views, is currently in the studio recording their first full-length album. The first single, “Starlight,” is set to hit radio in June along with the accompanying video and in a way it symbolizes a rebranding of Neverest with firm roots in the pop world that brought them their initial success. “I think we’ve found the direction that will continue to pave the way for us to become an international act,” says Paul. “We strive to be better and build a stronger musical connection with each song.” “The songs we’re recording for the new album come from the heart of Neverest and that’s the difference this time around,” explains Spee. “After the experience of playing both stadiums and smaller venues, as well as performing on national TV and radio, we’ve grown musically and developed our sound. It’s more up-tempo and we’re confident.” The confidence Spee, Paul and Greg bring to the next phase of Neverest stems from an intensive two years promoting their eight-track debut EP, About Us. From the October 2010 release of the first single “About Us”, to December 2012, when they received a gold certification for the song, it was go-go-go! In between, there were many milestones: the video for “About Us” reached No. 1 on MuchMusic’s Top 30 Countdown and the song went Top 15 at 3 radio formats CHR, Hot AC and AC; the second single “Everything” was an MMVA nominated Video, Hit Top 20 on Much Countdown and Top 10 on MuchMore and reached Top 10 on the BDS Canadian Singles chart; they also received two Canadian Music Radio Awards. They toured across Canada five times, including stints with the Stereos, Alyssa Reid, Shawn Desman along with the coveted support slot for the NKOTBSB sold-out arena tour. The band also participated in Free The Children’s youth-empowering-youth We Day events; toured Germany and the U.K.; and sang the Canadian National Anthem at the 2012 All-Star NBA game.
