Axion Biography

Apocalyptic Death Metal from the Greater Toronto Area, formed in 2023 by life-long friends Coleman Perin (lead guitars) and Keith Coulter (vocals)

A mix of death-thrash and OSDM with modern influence, Axion is the passion project of Coleman and Keith. The duo have an extremely wide range of influence and a decade long friendship which led to the band being conceived.

Heavily inspired and devoted to a healthy mix/dose of essential leaders of the genre like Death, Bolt Thrower, Gorguts & Many more. Coleman aims to fuse his thrashy, chugging guitar style with the chromatic, eerie characteristics you would expect in a death metal band. His love for more modern, technical acts like Skeletal Remains , Laceration and Revocation motivate him to continue to pursue more melodic leads and riffs.

Keith’s vocal and listening experience/influence spans from all ends of the metal spectrum; leading to a unique amalgamation, which forms his roaring voice.

In early 2024 Coleman was connected with Steven Rowlands (Scorn, Nepenthe & More), Who began recording & engineering Axion. He is also the bands drummer. Steven immediately became an integral part of the bands vision being brought to life, bringing his array of talents and wisdom to the table has been crucial to the bands existence as a whole.

Lyrically the band takes a more poetic, philosophical approach, with various takes on topics such as Armageddon, hypochondria and anguish.

The bands self-titled demo released September 27th, 2025!
