Coming from Winterthur, Switzerland, Another Approach is a progressive Metal band, whose music is best defined by reconciled opposites: quiet instrumental parts lead into hard hitting breakdowns, slow and intimate vocal passages give way to fast-paced, screeching guitar-solos and atmospheric synthesizer sounds set up catchy melodies. The sound lives from the contrasts produced by juxtaposing these devices as well as the tension created by the struggle to keep the different parts from falling apart. Their style knows few boundaries, often also drawing from different genres such as Jazz and Blues. This allows for differentiated, colourful and at times humorous storytelling that is not only manifested in the lyrics of their songs, but also in their structure.
