Four Families Biography

A band of friends playing the music of four families. Robin Rütenberg - vocals, guitar, mandolin Naarah Strokosch - cello, keys Summer Wood - percussion Four Families is a four-piece indie folk group from Jacksonville, Fl. They're inspired by themes of cultural tradition, historical observations, and social connectivity. Their first full-length, self-titled album is set for early 2014 release. Four Families is sponsored by craft brewery Intuition Ale Works. --PRESS-- “The sound of Four Families is at once classic and modern, soothing yet invigorating. The Florida quartet strikes a perfect sonic balance, with songwriting that puts their skills on full display. The combination of Robin Rütenberg’s voice and Naarah Strokosch’s cello results some of the most satisfying harmonies being made anywhere in America today, while Quinn Mellon and Summer Wood lay a rhythmic foundation so solid, you could carve statues from it. They have come a very long way in a very short time, and it’s only just begun…” —Shelton Hull, Columnist Arbus Magazine, Folio Weekly “[Four Families] have brought a neatly done EP to the table. It may be only four songs, but it showcases their songwriting, Robin’s great vocals, and leaves the listener wanting more.” —James Walker, Blogger Music Reviews by James “Get hooked on [Four Families]…part-blues, part-folk and nearly indescribable music…the indie-folk band maintains its ethereal sound with a focus on movement and sway.” —Katie Guile, Entertainment Writer UNF Spinnaker “And then there’s that voice. The opening number was one where the band played for a few measures before Robin, mandolin in hand, slowly introduced us to her pipes with a gorgeous wail that eventually gave way to the soulful, authentic, beautiful vocals that would stand out for the rest of the set.” —Florida Blog Floridabout Music: https://soundcloud.com/fourfamilies //// Twitter: http://twitter.com/four_families ///////// Insta: http://instagram.com/four_families //////
