Not Moving Biography
Not Moving were born in 1981, bringing together blues, rock ’n’ roll, punk, new wave, psychedelia and surf in a sound that was raw, visionary and unmistakably their own. With the unusual presence of a female vocalist and keyboards, they stood out as pioneers of the Italian post-punk scene. Through the ’80s they released albums, EPs and mini-LPs and built their reputation on stage, where their concerts — unpredictable and intense — became legendary between Italy and Germany. They played with The Clash and Johnny Thunders, and shared the bill with CCCP and Litfiba in Berlin in 1984.
After the first lineup disbanded in 1988, Not Moving continued until 1994. A reunion in 2005/06 culminated with Rock in Idro, opening for The Damned and Iggy & The Stooges. In 2018 the band resurfaced as Not Moving LTD — with Rita Lilith Oberti, Dome La Muerte and Antonio Bacciocchi — releasing the album Love Beat and the single Lady Wine.
In 2023 they were awarded the Ciampi Prize for Lifetime Achievement, performing at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno with CCCP and Marlene Kuntz. In 2025 they will receive the Lucca Underground Festival Award for their contribution to underground culture. Now, with That’s All Folks!, they close the circle under their original name Not Moving, reclaiming their classic logo designed in 1986 by Eddie King “Left-Hand Luke” — the Clash’s graphic designer — and sealing more than four decades of uncompromising rock.
