Yamamoto Boss Biography
Jason Hai Yamamoto (born June 21, 1985), known professionally as Yamamoto Boss, is an American rapper/hip hop artist, singer, and song writer coming out of San Diego, California. He is regarded as the first Asian American mainstream gangster rapper of 2023. Yamamoto's career started in 2009 but took a 14-year hiatus to focus on his finances, education, and family.
The rapper initially released two mixtapes in 2009 with "The Beginning" and "Love, Sex, Heartbreaks, Repeat," under "We Be Hustling Records." After a 14 yearlong break, the rapper returned with a completed solo debut album called "Back On My Grind," released on October 14, 2023. Yamamoto founded his own record label, Hustler's Mentality in 2023. On February 16, 2024, “Boss Level I” EP was released with 7 full tracks to show progression in anticipation of his upcoming 2nd studio album “SUMMERTIME BOSS” that was released on May 24, 2024. A deluxe edition for “SUMMERTIME BOSS” was released on May 31, 2024 with two additional songs.
Yamamoto is mainly known for his melodic rapping, storytelling, and soulful voice. The rapper emphasizes that his music is about loyalty and family. His musical influences come from a variety of different rappers such as Lil Wayne, Master P, Nipsey Hussle, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Naughty by Nature, Young Dolph, Gucci Mane, and Migos.
