About this concert
Open Folk is about connection through music. Each Tuesday night, 8 singer-songwriters share their songs and stories in an intimate, acoustic setting. It’s a space where raw talent and honest lyrics create moments that resonate.
We curate these nights, but don’t reveal who is in the line-up. We want you, the audience to come and discover your new favorite artists, in real life. These are highly talented, hardworking independent artists.
Every week is a new experience, with an incredible lineup and a unique theme that keeps the night fresh and unpredictable. Open Folk isn’t just a show—it’s a chance to come together to experience the powerful of true, stripped down performances by the best artists in Los Angeles.
For the past decade, Open Folk has been a global movement, connecting music lovers and artists across Argentina, Spain, and the United States. Alongside our live events, we’ve produced and released a series of albums featuring incredible talent from around the world. In 2024 alone, we’ve showcased dozens of brilliant artists here in Los Angeles—check out their music here.

Clayton Chaney Biography
Clayton Chaney is an Arkansan turned Angeleno. His songs seem to narrate an ever-changing West Coast coming-of-age. He draws inspiration from the old sounds of Roger Miller, Elvis Presley, and The Band while indulging in newer influences like Dawes, John Moreland and Jonny Fritz. You could call his sound “Contemplative Americana Folk-Rock.” As the former frontman of Indie-Bluegrass band The Show Ponies, Chaney has experienced America’s big cities and small towns from stages across the U.S. His first EP as a solo artist “Thinking Those Thoughts” debuted in January of 2020. Since then, he has been releasing singles accompanied by videos to create a memorable song catalogue that is both humorous and hard-hitting.
