About this concert
The acclaimed mini-big band is joined by the top-drawer vocalist to explore the Duke Ellington songbook, with Tony Kofi and Alan Barnes (reeds), Simon Finch (trumpet) and David Lalljee (trbne). Pianist / arranger Alex Webb leads the rhythm section of Dave Green (bass) and Alfonso Vitale (drums).

Alex Webb Biography
Webb is a bandleader, pianist, arranger and songwriter with a long history of working with leading jazz vocalists; his songs have been recorded by Liane Carroll, China Moses, Jo Harrop, Allan Harris, Cherise, Ayanna Witter-Johnson and many others. He has also create many words-and-music shows including Cafe Society Swing, while leading several jazz groups with some top UK jazz musicians. He currently leads The Pocket Ellington ensemble and works with Ineza on 'Women's Words, Sisters' Stories' and with Lulu Pierre and Marvin Muoneké in 'It Takes Two: The Great Jazz Duets'.
