Şenkop

"Şenkop" derives its name from two elements: "Şen," the Turkish word for joy and cheerfulness, and "syncopation," the rhythmic technique that plays with the ordinary flow of time by disruptng it. Roughly transkated, the band's name would aptly be "Joycopation" – a somewhat whimsical reflection of their musical approach. Frankly, this name encapsulates the band's artistic mission: discovering authentic folk songs from Anatolia and neighboring regions and reimagining them with vibrant, contemporary arrangements that infuse with joyful energy, while preserving their cultural essence.
