Cole Clark and High Horse Biography
Cole Clark and High Horse traverse the United
States playing traditional country/western and
rowdy honky-tonk music. From Hank Williams
to Dwight Yoakam, they cover the vast
landscape of country music. Borrowing from
the ways of Commander Cody and His Lost
Planet Airmen and hailing from Arizona, High
Horse is an inspired honky-tonk bar-band.
Cole sees Honky-Tonk as a niche type of
variety band. “To cover the bases of country
music, you can play everything from blues, to
jazz, to bluegrass, to rock, to cajun music -
country takes on so many flavors. In any given
show, there will be swing, shuffles, waltzes,
train beats, rockin’ anthems, sad songs, and
rowdy, silly, showy tunes like ‘Smoke, Smoke,
Smoke that Cigarette’ and ‘Hot Rod Lincoln’.
Hopefully some fiddle and pedal steel, too.”
High Horse has opened for Easton Corbin,
Ricochet, and Justin Jeansonne. They're in
steady rotation at the historic country bars
around Phoenix, including Handlebar J in
Scottsdale, the Dirty Drummer in Phoenix, and
Harold's Corral in Cave Creek. Every show
invites the audience on a spirited, twangy
journey through a uniquely American tradition.
