Eva Blanche Biography
At the crossroads of trip-hop, electro, and art rock, Franco-American artist Eva Blanche weaves, with her self-titled debut album, a cinematic soundscape – organic and mechanical, intimate and universal. Following her 2023 debut EP Metropole Paradise, Eva Blanche received the Constant Cocquelin Prize from the MNA Taylor Foundation and released the single Carmen, praised by international press including Rolling Stone. With echoes of Nina Hagen, David Bowie, and the French touch of ambient music, she invites listeners into a theatrical journey that blurs the lines between sound and stage. Her hybrid approach to “Art Rock”—bridging classical music, rock, trip-hop, jazz, theater, and cinema—brings a bold new energy to the French independent scene.
On stage, she performs on Japanese taishokotos, bowed like strings or resonant like a bass, while revealing her nearly four-octave vocal range and piano shaped by lyrical and classical training.
She is joined by Franck Mantegari (Alpha Blondy) on drums, Simon Hedges (Portishead) on bass, and Aloïs L. on synthesizers.
The album Eva Blanche, released in April 2025 mixed and produced in collaboration with Bob Coke (producer of Ben Harper’s album Fight For Your Mind) and Valentin Couineau (arranger and mixer for Benjamin Biolay), reveals her fearless artistic vision.
She also directs her own music videos, such as Too Human and To Walk Off Cliffs, blending choreography, drama, and futuristic urban narratives.
Her sound, described as Art Rock jazz, opens doors to a wide variety of stages. Her upcoming concerts include Nancy (France), La Gare Le Gore (Paris), and Miami’s Bayfront Jazz Festival celebrating Women In Jazz at the Bandshell.
