Time And Place Biography
Time and Place is a folk/punk/rock band based in Boston, MA.
The band formed in Amherst, MA in 2009 as an acoustic trio (Brandon Rainville - banjo/vocals, Jack Hawkins - guitar/vocals, Meagan Day - upright bass/vocals) with a focus on unplugged, energetic live shows and earnest lyrics. In 2011 they released their debut album ‘Scarlet,’ followed by their split EP ‘Share the Bottle’ with Boston mainstay The Old Edison, both recorded by Jonathan Natale.
In 2014 the band regrouped in Boston, plugged in, and added drummer Mike Cashin. The newly electrified quartet recorded their album ‘Longhaul’ with Trevor Vaughan at The Colosseum in New Bedford, MA, released in 2015. In 2017 they added Ryan Coomey on lead guitar. The band released a split EP with Boston-based punk outfit Blame Shifters in 2018, also with Vaughan.
The band continued their transformation from acoustic-electric to full electric and in 2019 released their ‘Ships that Pass’ EP, recorded by Elio DeLuca at The Soul Shop in Medford, MA. This marked the beginning of their ongoing collaboration with DeLuca, of which the next installment would be their ‘American White Noise’ EP, released in 2021, followed by their full-length self-titled album in 2025.
Time and Place performs in New England venues, kitchens, and basements of all sorts. Email timeandplaceisnow@gmail.com or find us on socials for booking.
