The Motifs

The Motifs started as the recording project of Alexis Hall from Melbourne, Australia in 2003. The first EP, 'Dots' was released in 2006 on Music Is My Girlfriend Recordings (Sweden). In 2007 the album 'Away' on Lost in Found Records (Japan) and the EP 'Matches' on WeePOP! Records (UK) were released, during a year-long stay in Japan. In 2008 the band returned to Australia and the compilation album 'Cross Paths' was released on 12 inch vinyl by Knock Yr Socks Off Records (Australia). The EP 'People Like Us' was released in 2009 on Cosy Recordings (Sweden), coinciding with a European tour. The band reformed in 2024 to support the release of a compilation CD 'I'm the One You Love' on Daisart / Se Dessaisir Publishing (Australia).
