Event websiteAbout this concert
On June 19th 2025, Utrecht Medics for Gaza will organize an event as part of the UGlobe student engagement initiative. The event brings together artists, activists, healthcare providers and the general public to address challenges to Gaza's medical education landscape and support Gaza’s medical students.
This summer, we bring Poetry for Palestine to the streets of Utrecht. Together with many active organizing communities; Utrecht Medics for Gaza, New Neighbours Utrecht, Utrecht4Palestine, Palestine Cafe Utrecht, and a growing circle of students, artists, healthcare workers, and citizens; we are building an open space for poetry, resistance, and solidarity.
A joint effort to raise voices, funds, and support for Gaza’s medical students. All proceeds will go to support health education efforts through PalMed Academy.

Myrthe Nauta Biography
Myrthe Nauta is a spoken word artist. Her words are raw, rhythmical, and detailed, taking you with her on a trip through her mind. On 8 August 2025, she dropped her first English EP, STANDSTILL, kicking off the trilogy album DYNAMO.
Myrthe has always seen herself as a “performance poet” first. She performs at many events, enjoying the directness of sharing her words with a live audience. In September 2023 she was chosen as the winner of a SPOKEN Award for poetry, resulting in a theater tour in the beginning of 2024.
Her love for words started through her love for music, gaining inspiration from musical lyricists like Ben Howard, boygenius and Taylor Swift. So it is no surprise that her debut album ‘Naastenliefde’, released in March 2022, is a combination of her poetry with music, produced by Jochem Broersen from Ocabo Music. The DYNAMO project will take this even a step further, incorporating more song writing influences.
As a response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2021, Myrthe wrote her first English piece ‘Don’t say war'. A video of her performing the piece was selected by multiple film festivals and won Best Experimental Film at the Venice Fullshot Film Festival and the Toronto Indie Film Makers Festival, and won Best Poem Short Film at 8 & Halfilm Awards Rome. This was followed by 'ARMOR', recorded in Brooklyn, New York City in May 2024 in support of the worldwide student protests for a free Palestine.
