While embracing traditions like jazz, R&B, Afrobeat, Brazillian samba, and boom-bap, the P.G. County natives prioritize music-making with a sense of exploration. The trio formed from rekindled grade school friendships and the music reflects this; revealing the truth of their time spent apart, their work simultaneously projects an imagined future as a growing unit. Trinomial is Ivanna Ajakpo (bass), Tijan Glover (drums), and Brody Steck (keys). Phantom Wave is a shoegaze band based out of Brooklyn, NY. Following their previous releases - “Wilds” and “Bonfire Secrets” - Phantom Wave’s 3rd LP, “Echoes Unknown” is an upbeat addition to their current catalog, comfortably capturing the distorted dreamscape that is trademark to the band. The three piece, comprised of Ian Carpenter (guitar/vocals), Yanek Che (bass) and Rachel Fischer (drums), create a wild depth of sound inspired by shoegaze classics and nugaze influences, bending the genre’s conventions with dynamic energies and multilayered textures. “Echoes Unknown” will be released on October 17, 2025 by Shore Dive Records, Brighton, UK.
