Metaforya

Turkish melodic death metal band Metaforya was founded in 2012 by Erdal Bayraktar and Murat Bayraktar in Istanbul. The band appeared and performed in many metal and rock venues throughout Istanbul as a cover band for a while. After a couple of years of hiatus, the band added Ozan Sezgin to their line-up as their drummer in 2017. The band went on to recruit two more members to perform in couple of venues in the following years.

After changing many vocalists, Metaforya decided to include a female brutal vocalist to their line-up. The search ended with Hilal Türker in 2022. Hilal had joined the band as a permanent member and vocalist just before the work on band's first single began. Akif Özdin, a close friend of Hilal Türker joined the band as the new lead guitarist. With their line-up in place, the band began working on their first single "Mortal World" in 2022, finally releasing it in April 2023. "Mortal World" was met with widespread acclaim throughout local media. The band released their latest EP, "Empires of Dust" in February 2024 and Metaforya has now unveiled their latest single, Against The Dark Tide, on August 30, 2024, offering a preview of their upcoming album.
