About this concert
Robert Deitch is one of Americana’s most compelling new voices — a late-blooming artist whose songs carry both grit and grace. After years as a Nashville staff writer with more than 30 cuts, he has stepped into the spotlight with his critically acclaimed album Legacy (Golden Bear Records, 2025).
Praised as “worthy of a Grammy” (Texas NPR) and “one of the very best albums in recent memory,” (Americana Highway) Legacy showcases Deitch’s soulful voice and storytelling, drawing comparisons to Guy Clark, John Prine, and Chris Stapleton. Singles like “Better Things,” “Trailer Park Romance,” “Goodbye Nashville,” and “Bullet Holes” (featuring Mary Gauthier) highlight his range from humor to heartbreak.
With hundreds of performances, including the Bluebird Café and The Listening Room in Nashville, Deitch has built a reputation as a writer’s writer and a performer who leaves audiences moved long after the last note.

Robert Deitch Biography
Nominated for Midwest CMO, Songwriter of the Year, Male vocalist of the year and Album of the year, Robert is a Singer/Songwriter, born in Iowa and honed in Nashville. He has been a music row staff writer for 3 companies over the past 15 years, and has written over 300 songs, and is currently working on his 3rd album. Over 30 of his songs have been cut by other artists. His voice can be described as blue collar smooth, yet gritty, like a fine bourbon, with a hint of gravel dust. His songwriting and delivery can be described as Chris Stapleton meets Jason Isbell, meets Vince Gill.
Hall of Fame songwriter, Hugh Prestwood ("A Song Remembers When") describes Robert as "a gifted songwriter, who mixes vivid storytelling with a powerful, soulful delivery", While HOF-er, Roger Murrah ("Don't Rock the Jukebox") says of Robert, "He's one of Nashville's best kept secrets...but not for long..."
Just a few more of Robert’s Honors and Accomplishments:
* Multiple songs recorded by National Artists, including Country Hall of Fame Artist, Bobby Bare
* Nominated for Inspirational Country Song of the Year, and Finalist for John Lennon International Gospel Song of the Year (“The Shadow of My Steeple”)
* Charted top 5 song on Inspirational Country Music Chart
* Recognized multiple times by Nashville Songwriters Association International for Outstanding Songwriting
* Former Music Row Staff Songwriter for Murrah Music Publishing, BMG Chrysallis Music Publishing, and Dan Hodges Music Publishing.
Robert grew up in a "Three Church Two Tavern Town" in southeastern Iowa, and when he is not performing around the Midwest, he splits his time between Nashville, TN, and his home in Polk City, IA.
