London-based Clemens leads a roaring ensemble of jazz, pop & R&B with 2021 Sarah Vaughan winner & Postmodern Jukebox star Tawanda About Brian Clemens is a London-based jazz pianist, arranger, and bandleader, originally from Los Angeles. He has headlined from LA to Barcelona to Istanbul. Blending his original songwriting with his work as pianist, arranger, and producer, he leads the jazz-pop group Luminoso, performing across Europe at some of the continent’s leading jazz clubs. He also directs the BC Jazz Orchestra: Songs of the Silver Screen—a large-scale show currently touring UK theatres and bringing his L.A. roots to life on stages throughout England. Tawanda Suessbrich-Joaquim is a jazz vocalist from New Mexico, now based in Los Angeles. She won the Sarah Vaughan Vocal Jazz Competition (2021) and the BISTRO Award (2023), and has toured internationally with Postmodern Jukebox. Her debut album, Smile, and her feature on Ivan Lins’ Grammy-nominated My Heart Speaks highlight a fast-rising career, with a voice praised for its soul, emotional depth, and timeless elegance.

Brian Clemens Biography

Brian Clemens is a Southern California-based pianist, arranger, composer, educator, and bandleader. A classical pianist from an early age, Brian enjoys a career as a versatile pianist covering anything from Latin Jazz, Great American Songbook, R&B, and even country-western music. After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Chapman University in Orange, CA, Brian continued his education with a Master's Degree in Music Performance (Jazz and Commercial Music) from Cal State Fullerton where he was a two time winner of the "Friends of Jazz" Scholarship Award.

Since 2012, Brian has taught music lessons all around Orange and Los Angeles County, instructing students of all ages and abilities in a wide variety of subjects and sharing his love and devotion to music in the process. In addition, Brian has played in multiple bands of different sizes and styles and has led several of his own. From Elvis tributes, to modern jazz, Disney, and all the way to Rat Pack tributes, Brian has experienced playing a wide variety of styles for many different settings and events.

Among his favorite styles to play are traditional jazz/swing, 50's/60's rock and roll, and Latin Music. Brian has played at well-known Orange and Los Angeles County venues such as Downtown Disney, The Muckenthaler, Cooks Chapel, Viper Room, The Drake and more and studied with world-class classical and jazz musicians such as the Grammy Award-winning pianist, Bill Cunliffe, and the supreme Moscow Conservatory pianist and composer, Aleksey Nikolsky.
