Power woman of jazz and fourth time Edison Jazz winner, Fay Claassen, is one of the most versatile singers of the Netherlands and one of the best in Europe. Fay is known as a musical phenomenon because of her recognizable voice, her elegance and delicacy; a sophisticated lady who does not shy away from genres. Anyone who hears Fay Claassen sing, immediately feels that she is something very special. With her recognizable voice and her improvisational skills, Fay has the special gift of not only touching the listener but always reaching straight to the heart.
Since the early 2000s, she has been on the road with numerous projects and renowned musicians such as Bob Brookmeyer, the Metropole Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, James Carter, WDR Big Band, Vince Mendoza, Mike Stern, and many others.
Her best-known project, "Two Portraits of Chet Baker," received numerous awards, including a `Gold en Record` in the Netherlands. She is the only Dutch artist to have received four Edison Awards - World/Jazz (the Dutch Grammy Awards).
