Antonio Lopez A Walk in the Woods: Honoring Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month Button Rock Reservoir 9-12 noon free to attend - registration required (limited to 20 particpants) About Join us in honoring Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month with A Walk in the Woods at our beautiful mountain property, Button Rock Preserve on Saturday, October 4th. At this event we will begin with a guided botany walk led by local volunteer botanists focusing on plants that hold significance in Latinx cultures. We will wrap up the event with a live musical performance from Chicano folk musician, Antonio Lopez. Antonio is a local celebrated Chicano folk musician whose lyrics often explore identity, place, and the natural world. https://www.antoniolopezmusic.com/ A Walk in the Woods bridges nature, the arts and culture, honoring Hispanic and Latinx heritage through an inclusive, educational, and meaningful experience. The event will foster a sense of belonging, promote cultural pride, and inspire conservation and sustainability-minded action in our shared landscapes. After the event, we’d love for you to join us for a warm cup of tea and meaningful conversation at Honorable Harvest Apothecary in the nearby town of Lyons, just a short 15-minute drive from Button Rock Preserve. They’ll be crafting a special tea blend just for this occasion, and your first cup is our treat! Event details will be sent out 3-5 days in advance.
