About this concert
The Town Hall and The Sinfonietta will present Disney and Pixar’s Coco in Concert Live to Film, featuring the film’s musical score by Oscar® and GRAMMY®-winning composer Michael Giacchino performed live along to the film. The concert will be led by conductor Macy Schmidt.
Coco tells the story of Miguel, a young boy who dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music. Following a mysterious chain of events and desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. Along the way, he meets a charming trickster named Héctor and together they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
The presentation is licensed by Disney Concerts.

The Sinfonietta Biography
The Sinfonietta is a global network of all-women orchestras renowned for reimagining the music of popular culture in a symphonic setting. Its modern and innovative creative direction has positioned the Sinfonietta as an industry leader across film concerts, brand partnerships, session recording, and live events.
The Sinfonietta’s inaugural NYC-based orchestra, The Broadway Sinfonietta, was founded in 2020 by Egyptian-American Orchestrator Macy Schmidt (who was recently named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 List for her work with the Sinfonietta). Since teaming up with industry veteran Colleen McCormack to grow the company, the orchestra has collaborated with pop stars such as Renée Rapp, Laufey, Brandy and Jordin Sparks; in concert for feature films and live score events such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (World Premiere, 70+ city national tour), Cowboy Bebop (World Premiere), and Avatar: The Last Airbender; and even onstage as featured soloists for the opening number of the 2023 Tony Awards.
After making its live full orchestra debut presented by Carnegie Hall Citywide, the Sinfonietta signed with Sony Masterworks. The Sinfonietta has since expanded to include the LA-based Hollywood Sinfonietta, partnering with Sony Pictures on two live score premieres of feature films, as well as partnering with Mattel and Warner Bros. Pictures to develop and debut the world premiere of Barbie The Movie: In Concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
The Sinfonietta’s international footprint is rapidly growing, performing most recently in Abu Dhabi with an all Arab women orchestra for the Forbes International Women’s Day Gala honoring world leaders Hillary Rodham Clinton, Gloria Steinem, Malala Yousafzai, Billie Jean King, and Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska.
As a production company, the Sinfonietta has partnered with brands such as Condé Nast, HSBC, Microsoft, Bloomingdale’s, MAC Cosmetics, and The Atlantic Magazine to create original commissioned content. The Sinfonietta’s management division has worked with clients such as Louis Vuitton and the United Nations. Since inception, the Sinfonietta has been featured in outlets such as NBC, CBS, Rolling Stone, BuzzFeed, Forbes, TIME, TeenVogue, Elle Magazine, The Washington Post, The Today Show, and more.
