About this concert
Fresh from Glastonbury and a 48-show international tour to 10 countries, notorious permaculture electro-funk/swingers & composters of the Anthropocene, Formidable Vegetable back in WA to sow a fresh harvest of hope in a wild & overgrown world and direct some rage at everyone's favourite streaming platform, Spotify who've just come out as pouring billions into AI weapons manufacturing. Cool and Normal! FoVeg recently recycled one of their songs into a single named 'Spotify, Where Music Goes to Die', which racked up over 1.5 million views on social media (and significantly less streams on Spotify... where it is now their only remaining track).
With wheelbarrow-loads of tasty organic rad(ish) beets, brass & bass, Formidable Vegetable have been cultivating dancefloors worldwide with seeds of climate resilience, community sufficiency and active hope for a sound future.
Over the past decade, they have become a favourite around Australia and on international festival circuits, having played at some of the biggest events in the world alongside monumental acts such as Radiohead, Tame Impala, Dolly Parton and The Rolling Stones.

Formidable Vegetable Biography
Possibly the only band to promote the joys of vegetable gardening, chicken-raising and compost through dance music, Formidable Vegetable Sound System are the world’s most successful experiment in ecological electro-funk-swing. With epic live shows consisting of antique beets, ukulele quirk, strings and hyperactive horns, the band has only one goal: to pound simple solutions for sustainability deep into your consciousness in the funkiest way possible.
Having made it into every corner of the globe over the past four years from the UK's Glastonbury Festival to the UN headquarters in Rome, Formidable Vegetable Sound System is paving the way through their special brand of musical activism towards simple solutions to some of the worlds’ biggest problems and are rapidly becoming a favourite on the Australian and international festival circuit, having played alongside Fat Freddy’s Drop, Radiohead and The Rolling Stones.
Realising that music is one of the best tools for bringing about cultural change, Formidable Vegetable Sound System frontman, Charlie Mgee has dedicated his musical mission to composing swingin’ tunes on a ukulele about plants, peak-oil and permaculture to inspire everyone to create the world they want to live in starting with their own front yards.
