Hepta Polka Biography
Playing a wide range of Nordic, German and Balkan folk music, the music of Hepta Polka is an extraordinary mix of original compositions and musical influences from all over Europe. Polskas, Sexturs, Jenkkas, Horos, Freylekhs, Oddmeters and many more. Outstanding arrangements, original sets and instrumentations are what we love to put our energy into.
With nyckelharpa, hardanger fiddle, Stroh violin, clarinet, trombone and a roaring rhythm section, we enjoy taking the audience on one of those journeys – from calm dreams to wild ecstasy, back and forth.
Highly energetic music that gets your hips moving – straight to the heart.
Members: Melf Torge Nonn - vocals, clarinet, Irish flute, tin whistle, soprano saxophone // Finn Henrik Stamer - violin, Hardanger fiddle, straw fiddle // Giacomo José Schmidt - vocals, violin, mandolin, Stroh violin // Florian Guantong Ding - 5-string fiddle, trombone, Irish banjo, quinton fiol, nyckelharpa, mandolin // Matthias Greenslade - guitar // Robin Klein - accordion // Pay Bandik Nonn - double bass // Daniel Johannes Schierhorn - percussion, drums & cymbals // Janos Bertram - sound engineer
