Tango Machina Biography
Tango Machina is an aggressive rock 'n' roll band from Asbury Park, New Jersey, known for their raw power and unapologetic energy. Founded in 2008 by vocalist/guitarist Paul Caffrey and bassist Damion DeStefano, the band was conceived out of a shared mission to create hard-hitting, riff-based rock with substance and edge.
Their self-titled debut EP, recorded in Caffrey’s childhood home, was released in 2012 and laid the foundation for their sound. In 2022, they followed up with Tongues of Animals, produced by Paul Ritchie (The Parlor Mob) at New Future Studios—a record that marked a major step forward in both songwriting and production.
Tango Machina has performed alongside a wide range of notable acts including CKY, The Giraffes, Spacehog, Cheetah Chrome, Sylvain Sylvain, Crobot, Prima Donna, and The Netherlands.
In 2024, the band solidified its most potent lineup to date with longtime collaborator Tim Norris on guitar and Quinn English (The Gay Blades, Plus Plus Minus) on drums. With renewed focus and a reinvigorated sound, Tango Machina is entering its most confident and creatively charged chapter yet.
