Midwest Martyr Biography
In a landscape dominated by corporately produced music, there is a collective demand for a touch of nostalgia - a return to a simpler time of heavy riffs, intense solos, and hard hitting rock n’ roll. Midwest Martyr, drawing inspiration from the rock music stylings of the 90s and 00s, seeks to fill this void by creating the music that resonates with audiences' desires and their love of old school rock.
Martyr achieves its style of music by melding the diverse tastes of each member. Drawing from influences spanning hard rock, country, metal, and even pop punk, Martyr works to incorporate all of these styles to make their unique but familiar sound. They find inspiration in bands ranging from Rage Against the Machine, Foo Fighters, and Black Stone Cherry to Green Day, A Day To Remember, and Shinedown.
On November 4th, 2023, Midwest Martyr released their debut record 'Upbringing', featuring a remarkable collection of 14 original songs. Despite its initial low-key release, the band's fortunes took a swift turn. In December 2023, Martyr uploaded a video titled 'Bass Go Burr' to their Instagram account, which rapidly went viral. The original video amassed nearly 20 million views on their page, with an additional 200 million views across various uploads on platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and more. The band currently sits at over 45,000 followers across all their social media accounts!
Following the departure of their previous guitarist and drummer, Midwest Martyr welcomed guitarist Zach Pegg and drummer Richard Crowe to the lineup in late 2024, solidifying their sound and energy for the road ahead, culminating in the release of their first new single "Fight The Fever" on April 11, 2025, "Take Back the Throne" on June 3, 2025, and "Homecoming" on July 18, 2025. The band is now preparing for live performances across the U.S. while actively working on their next album
