Susan Carson Music

Susan Carson & Rikk Mayr began playing together in 2025, after meeting at Rikk's martial arts school, where he teaches. They quickly discovered they each had a very extensive and diverse but similar musical background, both having played in touring bands for many years. Sharing a love for dynamic and powerful music, they began brushing up on popular songs to play together in area venues, while writing new original songs and creating new arrangements of Susan's previous original repertoire. You will immediately notice that though they are a duo, they perform more like a full concert - stage presence, audience engagement, and no reading from a music stand or tablet.

Susan Carson is a singer, guitarist, songwriter and engaging performer with experience fronting full bands and performing solo, including The Susans in Ohio and Pink Baby and Me & D in Connecticut. Rikk Mayr is a Berklee trained musician, playing bass, with experience touring primarily with recording artist Neal Casal and Blackfoot. ​

Carson & Mayr is quickly becoming known in the northern Ohio area for their powerful and professional show, Susan's dynamic vocal range, and Rikk's hard driving bass. Their repertoire includes over 100 songs from the 60s to today's hits, along with many of their own original pieces. They tailor their setlist for each show to please audiences and infuse every performance with energy.

Susan & Rikk are currently busy performing shows, booking new shows, writing new songs, and preparing to record in the studio.
